Welcome to our web-site! S.A.G.S. (School of Art fr. Giorgio Stefani) is a 4 years-old project leaded by Italian and Egyptian people who want to promote social  and economic development through art and culture.

The main focus of our mission is education and development, which are addressed to all, with a particular attention to those categories of people who are in difficulty: refugees, women, children.

SAGS is a project started in 2010 by Fr. Giovanni Esti, a Combonian missionary who has spent many years in Egypt. Fr. Giovanni gave a new value to his mission, listening to young women's stories who were looking for achievements in their lives. He brought together two very sensitive aspects: woman rights issue and protection of artistic and historical heritage in Egypt, in particular Coptic heritage, since he is an expert Christian origin and roots.

From this idea, a growing network of people met creating, together with Fr. Giovanni Esti, an artistic promotional trend, a real  art school aimed to spread opportunities, culture, education and Coptic art.

Why School of Art Fr. Giorgio Stefani? We want to pay a tribute to a young Combonian missionary, died prematurely in 2005 while he was accomplishing his mission in South Africa. We read his letters, addressed to his beloved family in Italy. He was used to greet saying: "Everything is ok" despite all difficulties. Remembering his efforts and his optimism, we keep working for our mission.
